–Gabriel to Shane, "Left Hand of the Goddess" |
Gabriel McCutcheon is a recurring character in seasons three and four of The L Word. He is portrayed by Eric Roberts and debuts in "Left Hand of the Goddess".
Gabriel is the father of Shane McCutcheon, whom he abandoned when she was a baby.
Background[]
Gabriel used to live in Austin, Texas, where he had a daughter Shane McCutcheon, who he abandoned when she was a baby.[3] Gabriel was a drug addict at the time and only cared about getting high and getting laid.[1] When Shane was young and living in a church shelter in Austin,[4] Gabriel would go watch her at the church playground, but he never spoke to her as he did not think he could do much good for her then. Gabriel eventually got clean after his friend Chuck died from an overdose.[1]
Because of his good looks, Gabriel had women constantly throwing themselves at him. No one expected Gabriel to ever settle down, but he went on to marry Carla McCutcheon, with whom he has a son, Shay McCutcheon. Gabriel lives in Oregon City, Oregon, with his family.[1]
Gabriel used to work as an assistant foreman at a pulp mill until he hurt his back. Upon his introduction in The L Word season three, he is a truck driver for a beverage distributor.[1] Gabriel loves the name "Shane", giving the name to his daughter and almost giving it to his son, Shay, as well.[1]
