Jamie Chen is a recurring character in season six of The L Word. She is portrayed by Mei Melançon and debuts in "LMFAO".
Background[]
Jamie was born to an Asian father and a Caucasian mother.[1] She comes from a long line of cops;[2] her father and two brothers are police officers.[1] Jamie's father used to beat her brothers but never touched, or paid any attention to, her or her mother; Jamie's mother would cover for her father.[1] Jamie initially joined the police academy to become a cop as well,[1] but quit after six months to her father's disappointment,[2] when she realised she was only doing it to get her father's attention.[1]
Jamie is a graduate of the University of Southern California (USC). She has been living in the same apartment since 1999, which she got while she was still in USC.[1]
Upon her introduction in The L Word season six, Jamie is a counselor[1] and the Director of Youth and Family Services at the LGBT Center[2]. She is a vegetarian.[2]
