Does it bother you that I flirt shamelessly with your girlfriend?

Kelly to Tina, "Litmus Test"

Kelly Wentworth (née Freemont[2]) is a recurring character in season six of The L Word. She is portrayed by Elizabeth Berkley and debuts in "Least Likely".

Kelly is Bette Porter's former college roommate, who has decided to go into the contemporary art business after winning $89 million in her divorce settlement.

Background[]

Kelly Freemont did her undergraduate studies at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.[2] During this time, she took an art class taught by Professor Scully and met Scully's teaching assistant and graduate student, Bette Porter.[2] Bette became Kelly's art history mentor,[3] and instilled in her a love for contemporary art.[2]

Kelly and Bette eventually shared a house together.[1] Kelly was a "vixen"[2] and, according to Bette, spent her college years sleeping with every male professor.[1] Bette and Kelly kissed once but Kelly was so overcome by "homosexual panic" that she immediately moved out of their house.[1]

After college, Kelly moved to New York City, New York.[1] She married a rich man, Dick Wentworth, and took his last name, becoming Kelly Wentworth.[1][2] Dick had an extensive art collection purely for investment purposes, and Kelly inherited the collection after their divorce.[2] After winning $89 million in her divorce settlement, Kelly has decided to open her own art gallery.[1][2]
