The L Word: Interrogation Tapes summary for Tina Kennard.
Following Jenny's death, Tina is interrogated by the LAPD. Tina talks about her mother who died when Tina graduated from college. Tina says she was born to an extremely conservative family in Arizona. Her father was a three-term Republican mayor who had an extramarital affair with a pretty young law student, but her mother was never threatened as long as they didn't read poetry together, which she considered the ultimate betrayal. When her mother discovered her father reading poetry with his "old workhorse" campaign manager, she packed up and moved her children to Atlanta, Georgia.
Tina talks about making the Lez Girls film with Jenny. She admits they had a difficult relationship at first, but says they became very close over the course of the filming. She says the two of them regularly drank wine in Jenny's trailer and Jenny had a way of getting Tina to open up about her personal life. Tina notes that she was feeling lonely at the time and needed someone to talk to.
The line of questioning then moves to Bette. Tina says that Bette was technically not the first woman she was with, revealing that she had been sexually abused by her older sister for three years, starting when she was around 11 years old. Her sister is now a born-again Christian who thinks Tina is going to hell for her sexuality.
